1) Terms of Service
Welcome to SleepyCalc, accessible at https://sleepycalc.com and available as a mobile application on Google Play (the “Services”). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please discontinue use.
1.1 Use of Services
The Services are provided “as is” for personal or commercial use subject to these Terms. We strive for accuracy but do not guarantee completeness, reliability, or availability.
1.2 User Responsibilities
- Do not upload or transmit unlawful, harmful, or infringing content.
- Do not modify, reverse engineer, or republish our Services without permission.
- You are responsible for any data you enter into the calculator, forms, or app.
1.3 No Medical Advice
SleepyCalc is a utility tool and does not provide medical advice. Consult a professional for health concerns.
1.4 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use or inability to use the Services. Your use is at your own risk.
1.5 Modifications
We may update or discontinue all or part of the Services without prior notice. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
1.6 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Canada.
2) Privacy Policy
We respect your privacy. This Policy describes how we handle information on our website and mobile app. By using the Services, you consent to the practices described here.
2.1 What We Collect
- Website forms (optional): If you submit a message via a contact form or email, we may process your name, email, and message to respond to you.
- Website analytics: We may use analytics (e.g., Google Analytics) that collect device and usage data (pages visited, browser type, session duration) to improve the site.
- Mobile app local data: Alarm settings (time, days), preferences (language, theme), and history are stored locally on your device (e.g., SQLite/local storage). We do not receive these data.
- Advertising & diagnostics: For the mobile app, ads are served via Google AdMob which may collect an Advertising ID (AD_ID), device information, interactions with ads (impressions/clicks), and diagnostics for fraud prevention and performance. On the website, we may enable Google AdSense in the future (see 2.2).
2.2 Cookies, Ads & Similar Technologies
Website (AdSense — planned): We may display ads via Google AdSense on the website. AdSense uses cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads and may personalize ads based on your activity. If/when AdSense is enabled, you can manage Google ad settings at adssettings.google.com.
Mobile app (AdMob — active): The app displays ads via Google AdMob. Depending on your region and choices, ads may be personalized or non-personalized. In the EEA, we use Google’s UMP (User Messaging Platform) to collect consent where required.
Cookies/Storage: The website may use cookies/local storage for preferences and analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser; some features may be limited.
2.3 Legal Bases (where applicable, e.g., EEA)
- Consent for advertising cookies and personalized ads.
- Legitimate interests for basic analytics, security, and service operation.
- Contract to provide requested features you choose to use.
2.4 Security
We implement reasonable safeguards to protect information; however, no method is 100% secure. Transmissions use HTTPS where applicable.
2.5 Mobile Application (Android) — Permissions
The app requests certain Android permissions strictly to deliver core functionality:

The app does not require you to create an account and does not collect your name, email, or contact details. Alarm data and preferences remain on your device unless you clear app data or uninstall.
2.6 Children
The Services are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact us and we will delete it.
2.7 Data Sharing & Sale
We do not sell personal data. Limited data may be shared with service providers (e.g., Google/AdMob/AdSense/Analytics) to deliver and measure ads, improve performance, and prevent fraud, in accordance with their privacy policies and applicable law.
2.8 Retention & Deletion
- Mobile app local data: stays on your device and is removed when you clear app data or uninstall.
- Website analytics/ads data: follow Google’s retention policies.
- Contact messages: retained as needed to respond; you can request deletion.
2.9 Your Choices & Rights
- Manage advertising choices in your device settings and in-app consent (EEA via UMP).
- Opt out of personalized ads (when applicable) via Google settings.
- Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, object, or delete data. Contact us to exercise these rights.
2.10 International Transfers
Service providers (e.g., Google) may process data in countries outside your own. Appropriate safeguards are applied as required by law.
